Linda Edna Cardellini was born on June 25, 1975 to her parents Lorraine Hernan and Wayne David Cardellini in Redwood City, California becoming the youngest of four siblings. Growing up in San Francisco, she made her public performance debut in the musical The Music Man at the age of ten. While in school, Linda performed in several school productions and taking drama lessons. In 1993, she graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School in Mountain View, California. In 1994, she was a contestant on “The Price is Right” and won a fireplace. Linda attended and graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in theatre arts in 1997.

Linda began her professional acting career by having a recurring role on the television series “Bone Chillers” as Sarah in 1996. The next year, she appeared in an episode of the popular sitcom “3rd Rock from the Sun” as Lorna, a couple episodes of “Pacific Palisades” as Sara, on “Clueless” as Oddrey, and on “Step By Step” as Cassie Evans. Linda also had her first taste on a film set opposite Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell in Good Burger as Heather.

1998 brought us Linda in the films Dead Man on Campus as Kelly and Strangeland as Genevieve Gage. She also appeared in an episode of “Promised Land” as Amber and reunited with her Good Burger co-stars on “Keenan & Kel” as Becky. Linda had a recurring role on the television show “Guys Like Us” as Jude. In 1999, she portrayed Leslie Dugger in Dying to Live, a television movie about a guardian angel escorting a teen and casts an attack on a rival teen who caused her death. We also see Linda in Season 5 of “Boy Meets World” as Lauren, a girl working at a ski resort that causes distress in Cory and Topanga’s relationship. She had a small recurring role on “The Lot” as June Parker and played Melissa in the film The Prince and the Surfer before her breakout role of Lindsay Weir on the television show “Freaks and Geeks”, which turned out to have a cult following years after it aired. In her personal life, she and “Freaks and Geeks” co-star Jason Segel began dating after the show was cancelled and ended up dating for five years.

In 2001, Linda played the role of Chutney Windham in Legally Blonde opposite Reese Witherspoon and Ali Larter and Shelley Hunter in The Unsaid, opposite Andy Garcia. 2002 gave the world Linda as everyone’s favorite meddling kid Velma in the live-action film Scooby-Doo. She gave her voice to a video game for the first time in 2003 in “Gladius” as Ursula. She also appeared in an episode of “The Twilight Zone” as Ali Warner and in the short film Certainly Not A Fairytale” as Adelle/Writer. Linda reprised her role as Velma in Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed, as well as lending her voice for the video game as well. Beginning in 2003, she had a recurring role on the television drama “ER” and would continue for the next six years.

In 2004, she appeared in the film Jiminy Glick in Lalawood as Natalie Coolidge, a film about a critic getting caught in a murder case at the Toronto Film Festival. She also played Linda in LoliLove, starring James Gun, Jenna Fischer, and Jason Segel. In 2005, Linda was a part of the award-winning film Brokeback Mountain as Cassie, starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. She voiced Velma, Jem, as well as other characters on the series “Robot Chicken”. She was also in the film American Gun as Mary Ann Wilk. 2006 gave us Linda as Samantha in Grandma’s Boy, a film about a 35-year-old game tester that moves in with his grandmother. In 2007, she appeared in an episode of “Human Giant” as Melody Richards and as Clara Forsythe on the mini-series “Comanche Moon” in 2008. In 2007, she was recognized as a Distinguished Alumna by Loyola Marymount University. Linda was a part of the film The Lazarus Project as Julie Ingram, opposite Paul Walker and Piper Perabo.

In 2009, she had an uncredited role on the show “Cupid” as a masseuse. Linda also lent her voice for the series “The Goode Family” as Bliss Goode and Shelly. She began dating her childhood crush Steven Rodriguez that same year. In 2010, she was in the film Super as the Pet Store Employee, as well as in the short film Gleeclipse as Coach. Linda was in the film Return as Kelli and Kill the Irishman as Joan Madigan in 2011. In October 2011, she and her boyfriend Steven announced the pregnancy of their first child, giving birth to her daughter, Lilah-Rose Rodriguez, on February 29, 2012. She portrayed the role of Dr. Megan Tillman in an episode of “Person of Interest”. She also lent her voice to the video games for “All-Star Superman” as Nasthalthia and “Lolipop Chainsaw” as Cordelia; as well as the shows “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” as Marcy Fleach, Dark Lilith, and the Airport PA and on the show “Out There” voicing Sharla. She also had a recurring role on the AMC television series “Mad Men” as Sylvia Rosen, Dan Draper’s love interest.

She lent her voice as C.J., Mrs. Chamberlain, Girl 2, and Automated Voice System on the show “Regular Show”; Wendy Corduroy and some additional voices on “Gravity Falls”; and Megan Sparkles, Hector’s Mom, Madam Slash, additional characters on “Sanjay and Craig”. Linda also appeared on the popular television show “New Girl” as Abby Day. She was also in the film Welcome to Me, opposite Kristen Wiig and Wes Bentley, as Gina Selway. Linda and Steven became engaged in June of 2013.

Linda joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015 as Laura Barton in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She also played opposite Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg in Daddy’s Home as Sara. She even had a recurring role on the television show “Bloodline” as Meg Rayburn. Linda portrayed Joan Smith in The Founder in 2016. She played Leanne Wilson in Austin Found opposite Skeet Ulrich and Craig Robinson in 2017 before reprising her role of Sara in Daddy’s Home 2. In 2018, she appeared in the films Hunter Killer as Jayne Norquist, A Simple Favor Diana Hyland, and Dolores in the award-winning film Green Book.

In 2019, Linda portrayed the role of Anna in the film The Curse of La Llorona, based on the Hispanic folklore. She also reprised her role as Laura Barton in Avengers: Endgame. She is also a part of the Netflix series “Dead to Me”, also starring Christina Applegate and James Marsden. 2020 will bring Linda as the role of Mae Capone, the wife of the infamous gangster, in the film Capone, also starring Tom Hardy.

Outside of acting, Linda loves art, especially Margaret Keane. She enjoys taking martial arts classes and spending time with her daughter, Lilah-Rose.
